Texas Vacation
Well I finally have time to post some pictures of our trip to Texas. We were there for 3 weeks which was great because it allowed us to visit with my family and do fun stuff without having to rush to fit everything in.
The first week we were there we went to Port Aransas to swim in the ocean. The water was sooo warm and the girls had a great time finding sea shells. Madison loved the waves in the water and most likely could have stayed in the ocean all day if we had let her. She is definitely our beach babe. Morgan liked the ocean too however the salt water was a bit too much for her eyes. She decided the beach was more fun.
After seeing the ocean we were off to San Antonio where we went to Sea World and saw the Alamo. Sea World was great!! We spent two days there but could have easily done three. The second day we wore our swim suits all day which made the hot weather much more bearable. They have one side of the park that is just a water park which of course the girls loved. At the end of the day we saw the Shamu show. We managed to get seats right up front where you can see Shamu on the platform. This was also the splash zone. Lets just say we were a bit wet after the show but loved every minute of it.
Nate headed home a day after all of our fun. The next two weeks were filled with visits to Great Grandma's house, school shopping, and of course some sight seeing. I took a ton of pics and picked the ones I thought were the best. Hope you enjoy!

Stay tuned for up coming pics of Michaela's 1st Birthday party! Oh and did I mention I am going to be an aunt AGAIN! Yes, Gary and Erin are going to have #4!! They were just as shocked as the rest of us....pray for a Girl!

Our Great Adventure
Well we are still in Texas visiting with my family and having a wonderful time.
We have had some great cooler weather and enjoyed a nice rain shower yesterday from the hurricane. I thought I would share a story about a little adventure my mom and I had yesterday while we were out site seeing. I'm not sure I can explain it in a way that you will find funny but keep in mind that my mom and I were laughing so hard we were crying. So anyway...
We went down a road close to my parents home because my mom had not driven that way yet. We came across a old cemetery and decided to drive through it and look at the old grave stones. Keep in mind this cemetery is extremely old (1800's) and is not maintained so many of the headstones were broken or had fallen down completely. We drove through the first part fine and came back out on the main road. We then drove down a little ways and saw an entrance into the older part of the cemetery and began to drive on a road that was not as well maintained as the other roa
d we were just on. We also didn't keep in mind that it had just rained pretty hard in that area. So we proceeded up a hill and came to the top where we found the grave site of Sam Bass. Sam Bass was an outlaw who formed the Sam Bass gang in the 1800's. He did many train robberies and I believe the one he is best known for was the one in Nebraska where he stole $60,000 in gold. He eventually was shot and killed on Main St. by the Texas Rangers here in Round Rock, Texas where my parents live. Right next to where he is buried are a couple of his friends from the gang and a slave cemetery. It was very interesting to see all of this.
We continued on the road a little ways where we discovered it came to end. We were not expecting this and began to wonder how we were going to get out of the cemetery. For those of you who don't know my parents drive a Cadillac Deville which I consider to be the size of a small boat. So the area we are in (head stones all around us) has just enough room to back the car up and turn around. However the car is rear wheel drive and begins to get stuck in the mud(this is where the laughing begins). My mom manages to get it going back down the hill but you have to remember that the headstones are literally right next to the car. As we start our descent the car begins to slide. By this time I can't see anything because of the tears rolling down my face and my stomach begins to hurt from all of the hysterical laughing. The only thing I could think about was the car taking out a bunch of headstones. We continued sliding down the hill when the car then went sideways. My mom basically had no control over the car. We did make it to the bottom without taking out the 30 or so headstones in front of us but when we looked at the car it had clumps of mud up on the hood from the wheels spinning. We got back out on the main road and as the car accelerated you could hear all of the mud flying off from under the car.
We managed to compose ourselves and decided to drive the car straight to the car wash to wash the undercarriage, and get the clumps of mud off the hood. When we got there my mom proceeds to say the mud looks like a small "turd" (sorry if that offends anyone). Madison and Morgan where in the car and I guess Madison pondered on the word "turd" for about a minute because she then proceeded to ask me "Mom, is there a turtle up there?". I looked at my mom and we both just broke out into hysterical laughter again and I was almost to the point of no return if you know what I mean. Thankfully the clump of mud did come off but not by the spray of water but by the air dryer at the end of the wash. We were only left with a small streak of mud across the hood where the mud slid off.
We told the story to my dad later who wasn't quite as amused as we were and was thankful he didn't have to come rescue us from the cemetery. He just said tomorrow could you please take the Jeep if you want to go out joy riding.
Morgan of course slept through the whole thing (car rides make her go to sleep) and Madison only chuckled a few times during our adventure only because she saw us laughing. It will be a day I won't soon forget!
(The pics were taken 2 days after we had our little adventure. In the last picture you can see my mom's tracks. This was at the top of the hill right before we went downhill.)
We will be back home Tuesday night. The girls are missing their daddy and of course Bailee! I will post pics of our time here when we get back.

9 Years!!
Wow I can't believe it has been 9 years since we got married. I remember on our honeymoon trying to imagine where we would be in 10 years and it is now just right around the corner!
I just wanted to let everyone know what an Amazing husband I have. So I thought of a few things he does Regularly just to show how much he cares for me and our girls. They might be silly things to you but to me they mean everything. Thank you honey for being such a wonderful husband and father to our girls. I love you!!
1. Every morning he kisses me good-bye whether I am awake or asleep.
2. He calls me at least once a day or we talk on the computer just to say "Hi" or "I love you".
3. Makes coffee for me even if he doesn't want any.
4. When it's cold here..not very often..he puts a heating pad on my side of the bed to warm it up before I get in.
5. Makes ice cream for me and the girls almost every night.
6. Reads to the girls and always kisses them goodnight.
7. Always does the Handyman stuff..i.e Mow, plumbing problems, etc.
8. Always records my shows for me when I am gone without me evening reminding him. I am the one who usually forgets they were on anyway!
9. If we share a drink he will always get Coke even though I know he would prefer Dr.Pepper.
10. He always lets me drink out of his water cup at night even though I know I could just as easily go get my own water :).
Happy Anniversary Nathan!
I love you!
me
